Born in Kaesong, Gyeonggi Province, Korea.
1958
Began his photographic career as an early member of Shinsunghoe (The New Line Society), the first photographic group in Korea to advocate realism.
Appointed Secretary General of the Korea Photographers Association.

1959
Appointed Vice President of the Korea Photographers Association.
Became a Central Committee Member of the Korean Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations.
Joined the Photography Division of the Korean Fine Arts Association.
